Marine supply company Uline needs 90 to 120 workers to staff its new Alburtis-based distribution center and is offering wages of up to $25 an hour.
The 925,910 square foot building is currently under construction at 8449 Congdon Hill Drive. It plans to open at the end of September.
The new facility, according to a press release, continues the company’s double-digit growth trend seen across North America over the past five years. Uline offers same-day delivery on more than 40,000 products from its 800-plus-page catalog and e-commerce website.
Positions at the Alburtis site include warehouse associates; handlers; forklift operators; mechanical; warehouse clerk; guards; and supervisory staff. In addition to the starting hourly rate of $25, the company offers bonus programs including annual performance; sales targets; and profit sharing. Employees also benefit from paid time off and opportunities for growth and development.

This new facility is expected to distribute Uline’s wide range of products, including shipping supplies and security products, to branches nationwide to ensure Uline’s promise of next day delivery. The company is committed to “superior customer service” and its mission of “speed, passion and operational excellence,” the press release said.
Uline representatives said that as companies gradually resume pre-pandemic operations, demand for the company’s commercial product catalog continues to grow. Uline already employs nearly 1,000 people in the Lehigh Valley, including its Upper Macungie Township distribution and fulfillment center. This facility has hosted several hiring events since the start of the pandemic with a need for hundreds of new workers.
The family business started four decades ago, becoming a leading distributor of shipping, industrial and packaging materials for businesses across North America. It has more than 7,000 employees spread over 12 sites.
