India’s SME forum will award top smart store vendors in South India

India SME Forum (ISF), India’s largest not-for-profit, non-governmental organization for small and medium enterprises, announces a first-of-its-kind vendor award, the ‘Best Sellers of India Awards 2022 – Recognizing Phygital Excellence in South India‘. The award will recognize outstanding achievement and excellence of South Indian retailers who have leveraged the latest technology, credit facilities and digital solutions to serve consumer interests with the best possible deals while achieving growth. Candidates will be assessed for their performance from April 2020 to March 2022.

MSMEs, especially in South India, have increasingly transformed their business with the adoption of omnichannel solutions. It has helped thousands of merchants increase footfall, improve customer experience, improve payment acceptance ecosystem, improve in-store conversions, and generate more sales. With this in mind, ISF aims to recognize and celebrate small-scale vendors in the six states of South India, namely Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Goa, as well as to amplify the best practices of successful entrepreneurs and salespeople, enabling millions of aspiring entrepreneurs to segment and grow their businesses.

The awards in each category will be judged by a panel of eminent dignitaries, including former bureaucrats, Dr. Aruna Sharma, IAS, Former Secretary, Government. of India, Shri Dhanendra Kumar, IAS, former President of ICC and former Cabinet Secretary. of India, Shri Ramesh Abhishek, IAS, Former Secretary, DPIIT, Shri Prahlad Kakar, Brand Guru, Shri TK Arun, Editor, Economic Times, Ms. Shriti Malhotra, CEO, Quest Retail – The Body Shop, Shri Vinod Kumar , Chairman, Indian SME Forum and many others. Each entry will be evaluated based on financial and non-financial metrics such as growth performance, financial strength, future-proof orientation, and digital journey, among others.

A total of 32 awards will be presented to retailers across 8 industries, including Best Electronics Smart Store, Best Appliance Smart Store, Best Home & Kitchen Smart Store, Best Furniture Smart Store, Best fashion and clothing smart store, Best Smart Store in Grocery, Best Smart Store in Sports & Lifestyle and Best Smart Store in Food & Beverage. These would aim to reward one winner and one runner-up from each of the 8 sectors who have successfully adopted a combination of in-store and online retail.

Additionally, the ceremony will also aim to congratulate retailers in 5 special categories – Top Fintech User of the Year, Top OmniChannel Seller of the Year, Top Digital Retailer of the Year, Top E-Commerce Seller of the Year and Best SMARTSTORE of the year. . Two prizes, a winner and a runner-up, will be awarded for each of the five categories. 1 Best Seller Award from each of the 6 states will also be presented. Retailers can nominate themselves in multiple categories if they meet specific nomination criteria.

Nominations for the awards open August 4, 2022. Those interested in participating can log on to www.indiasmeforum.org/bestsellers and submit their nominations. The deadline for submitting applications is 10e September 2022.
