Acme sees increased demand for its warehouse automation system…


Dubai, UAE: UAE-based Acme Intralog saw a 22% increase in demand for the company’s automated warehousing solutions in the past two quarters, compared to the same period l last year.

According to Navin Narayan, CEO of Acme Intralog, “This growth is primarily driven by the retail and e-commerce industries seeking order picking and sorting solutions. If performed manually, these processes are often the most time-consuming, while being repetitive and boring.Automating these processes can dramatically increase productivity as well as accuracy.

At the company’s manufacturing facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Acme manufactures a full range of conveyor systems, AS/RS systems, control systems as well as other material handling systems. They also design and manufacture custom factory automation solutions for a variety of industries in the region. Acme continues to make significant investments in R&D to develop competitive and innovative solutions.

Narayan added, “The intralogistics sector in the region is investing more in modernization and technology. The pandemic has been an eye opener that has made businesses realize that they cannot always depend on the global supply chain and a continuous supply of labour. Therefore, they are now ready to invest more in automation. We are currently working on a project for a large regional distributor and are automating their distribution centers in Saudi Arabia. And here in the UAE, we are working with one of the largest supermarket chains in the region to supply a sorter to their fruit and vegetable distribution centre. Thanks to automation solutions, these customers will be able to increase the productivity of their micro-distribution centers. »
